Graeme Souness has told Sky Sports that Liverpool star Mo Salah looks as if he is back to his old self after his superb brace against Tottenham on Sunday in the Capital – Liverpool holding on to a 2-1 win over Antonio Conte’s side.
Salah, 30, took his tally to 14 goals for the entire campaign already, in what was only his 20th appearance. An incredible total for a player that is conceived to not be playing at their best. The Egyptian has also laid on five assists.
He opened the scoring on Sunday after an incisive pass from Darwin Nunez – taking a touch and lashing one into the back of the net. Salah got his second, and 14th of the season just before the break, after a poor mistake from Eric Dier.
A poor header back to Hugo Lloris saw Salah run through and chip Hugo Lloris to perfection. A wonderful display, as Liverpool held on to the win – and Souness has heaped praise on the no.11. He says he is back to his wonderful best.

“Salah was outstanding for both of his goals. He makes things look easy, we talk about his touch. It is not easy when you’re sprinting and taking a touch like that. His second goal says everything about him. He was more like himself.”
Souness: Salah back to his best after Liverpool brace
It is hard to explain why Salah has not looked his best for parts this season, when his goals and assists read 19 in 20. But Salah has been sub-par at times, as have the rest of the Liverpool side – proving massively inconsistent.
Beating Manchester City and Tottenham, performing well in the Champions League, but losing back-to-back league games against Leeds and Nottingham Forest. This season is one of transition for Liverpool. Top four would be solid.
