Graeme Souness has changed his mind on Tottenham’s title chances.

In just the space of a week, pundit Graeme Souness has changed his mind on Tottenham Hotspur’s title chances.
It is his prerogative to do so, but it looks embarrassing for him to rule them out, having just criticised others for doing so days earlier.
Prior to Tottenham’s win over Cardiff City during Sky Sports’ coverage of the game, Souness said: “When we saw them play against Everton, eight, nine days ago, they weren’t good, they weren’t very good, they were absolutely brilliant, in all aspects of their game and if they come anywhere near that today, and between now and the end of the season they’ll be back challenging again. One bad result and people are putting a line through their name.”
Now Souness has done exactly that, telling The Times he no longer views them as title contenders.
He believes only Liverpool and Manchester City can win the league, despite Spurs being only two points behind City.

Souness explained why he is putting a line through Tottenham’s name.
He said: “If you are deducing that I have just reduced this Premier League to a two-horse race then you are absolutely right. Tottenham are a fine team and certainly close enough to be considered as contenders but I can’t see them winning the title.
“Imagine if Harry Kane were to pick up an injury while Son is away — to whom would Tottenham turn for goals?”
Tottenham have proved their doubters wrong so far this season to even be in contention, after failing to strengthen in the transfer market last summer.
Now the question is whether they can take the next step. They can show their strength with a victory over Manchester United next weekend at Wembley.
