Tottenham Hotspur won against Fulham at the weekend, but only just. The North London outfit needed a late goal from Harry Winks to pick up all three points from the Premier League game at Craven Cottage in London.

Graeme Souness was following the match for Sky Sports, and the Liverpool legend made an acute observation about Tottenham after the London derby.

The former Rangers and Liverpool manager said that the Spurs substitutes who were warming up looked like kids who should be in schools.

Among the substitutes on the Tottenham bench for the London derby against Fulham were Juan Foyth, Oliver Skipp and Kazaiah Sterling.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, Eric Dier, Ben Davies and Paulo Gazzaniga were the other Spurs substitutes.

Souness said on Sky Sports Main Event on Sunday evening (6:19pm, January 20, 2018) after the match against Fulham: “When the Tottenham subs came to warm up by us, they all looked like kids that should still be in school. They are down to the bare bones.”

Meanwhile, former Manchester United and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said that Tottenham will not win the Premier League title this season.

Spurs are third in the league table at the moment with 51 points from 23 matches, nine points behind leaders Liverpool and five points behind second-placed Manchester City.

Mourinho said on beIN SPORTS: “I think in this moment there is huge pressure for them (Tottenham). The top two is obvious, is clear. The third, the fourth, the fifth and the sixth, this is the moment of the truth.

“This is the moment where we are changing from December to January. It is a crucial period for them.

“United is coming strong. Tottenham is getting a little bit weaker and I think they lost six points at home in the previous two matches. So Tottenham is not anymore one of the three (chasing the title). Now they have become of the four that is from the third to the sixth.”
