Everton’s Jordan Pickford will be preparing to link up with England ahead of the international fixtures.

Graeme Souness has likened Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford’s ‘notice me’ type of character to that of Liverpool legend Bruce Grobbelaar.
In recent weeks, Pickford has hit the headlines for his antics between the sticks, particularly his performance during his side’s 3-2 defeat at Newcastle when the former Sunderland was pulling faces at the St James’ Park crowd.
On Sunday, he put in a better display and helped his side to a clean sheet and three points as Marco Silva’s men recorded a deserved 2-0 win over Chelsea on home soil.
Speaking to Sky Sports Premier League after the match, Souness shared his thoughts on Pickford and compared him with his former European Cup winning teammate.
“He was faultless,” Souness told Sky Sports PL. “For a goalkeeper, you want to think at the end of the game, ‘my goalkeeper has played well today, he’s made difficult saves and made it look simple’ instead of some goalkeepers, and he’s got some of that, ‘I want you to notice me today by doing some daft things’.
“I played with Grobbelaar, who was quite a unique character. He as well as being a fantastic goalkeeper, he liked to be in the limelight. I think maybe Jordan does the exact same.”

During his playing days, Grobbelaar was known for being a fiery character, with the former Reds keeper a leader of men and a standout performer.
England international Pickford will be hoping that his performances on the pitch will do the talking before the season draws to a close because supporters have even questioned whether he is still Gareth Southgate’s number one.
The Three Lions will take on the Czech Republic and Montenegro for their Euro 2020 qualifiers, with Pickford battling Tom Heaton and Jack Butland for that number one jersey.
It is likely that Southgate will stick with Pickford between the sticks because he has shown loyalty to his players and his performance during the World Cup in Russia should count for something.
