Dele Alli has enjoyed another sensational season for Tottenham Hotspur, but Graeme Souness is urging him not to get carried away.

Graeme Souness has explained to Sky Sports that while Dele Alli would get his vote for Premier League Young Player of the Season, he would be constantly reminding the Tottenham star that he still has a long way to go in his development.
Alli has enjoyed yet another brilliant campaign at White Hart Lane, scoring 16 times in the top flight, while also contributing five assists for Mauricio Pochettino’s men to help them establish themselves as Chelsea’s closest rivals in the title race.
Given his contribution, it is incredible to think that the 21-year-old is currently enjoying only his second season at the highest level.
And while Souness has been so impressed that he suggested that the former MK Dons man should take the young player accolade this term, he urged his teammates to not let the midfielder get too carried away.
“He won it last year and is a player who gets goals from midfield, he has created chances for his team-mates and providing he does not get carried away and starts to believe what people like I say about him, and keeps his feet on the ground, then he has a chance of being a star,” he told Sky Sports.
“He still has a lot to do and I would be constantly reminding him – or would get someone at the club to, as we had at Liverpool with Ronnie Moran, who was the man who kept our feet on the ground more than anyone else at the football club, so I hope they have someone like him – that he still has a long way to go.”
Given what Alli has already achieved during his brief career, it is arguably frightening to think what the youngster could achieve when he has a few more years experience under his belt.
And if Tottenham are able to keep him during the best years of his career, then it is surely impossible to imagine Spurs not winning plenty of silverware, across several competitions for that matter.
