Graeme Souness has suggested that Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino looked like he barely took part against Manchester United yesterday, as per his comments to Sky Sports Super Sunday.
Firmino and Liverpool struggled to break down United’s defence, as the two sides played out a 0-0 draw.
Firmino actually had arguably Liverpool’s best chance of the day, when the ball broke to him inside the box, but his shot was a tame one which went straight at David de Gea.
And Souness feels that Liverpool’s attack just aren’t clicking properly right now.
He said: “For me looking at Liverpool, as a Liverpool supporter, and thinking where’s the difference between where they have been for the last three years and now, it’s the front three.
“The front three today for me, there was no sparkle or special moments.
“Firmino didn’t take part in the game a lot, Salah didn’t skip past Shaw once.
“The best chance fell to Firmino and he scuffs it. You’re inside the box with a clear sight of goal.”

Liverpool have now drawn blanks in their last three league games, which is becoming a cause for concern.
The Reds haven’t even been guilty of missing too many chances in those matches, they are simply struggling to break down pack defences.
Liverpool’s draw with United means that they have now slipped down to fourth place in the Premier League table, and they will need to return to winning ways sooner rather than later if they are to keep pace with the league leaders.
