Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic won against Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup on Sunday.
Shinnie, who can operate as a left-back or as a central midfielder, was not impressed with the way Brown celebrated Celtic’s in against Aberdeen in the final of the Scottish League Cup at Hampden Park in Glasgow on Sunday afternoon.
The Hoops got the better of Aberdeen 1-0 to win their first domestic trophy of the season.
Aberdeen ace Shinnie, 27, has criticised 33-year-old former Scotland international midfielder Brown – who has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2007 when he joined from Hibernian for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £4.4 million.
Shinnie told The Scottish Sun about Brown: “There are ways to go about things as a captain. You can have a bit of class about you — they don’t and it frustrated me. But we have to deal with it.
“They were 1-0 up and had the ascendancy and it gave them the chance to do it. I’m man enough to take it.
“Players sometimes shake hands after but there’s none of that now. It’s happened more than once. I’m used to it now.
“It is what it is. I’m big enough and man enough to deal with it. Celtic have won the cup so congratulations. He will do what he does. It doesn’t bother me.”
Success
Celtic have won the domestic treble in Scotland for the past two seasons, and the Glasgow giants are favourites to repeat those heroics this campaign as well.
The Hoops are going strong in the Scottish Premiership, and the Glasgow giants will fancy their chances of going all the way in the Scottish Cup as well.
