Graeme Sharp shares what he’s been told about Everton’s Cenk Tosun in training

Everton striker Cenk Tosun has scored four goals in his last three outings.

Everton legend Graeme Sharp has told his side’s official website that he has been told by the Toffees coaches that Cenk Tosun’s finishing has impressed since the moment he arrived.

Tosun arrived from Besiktas during the January transfer window, but the Turkish striker was held back initially.

Sam Allardyce appeared reluctant to use Tosun at first, but he has shown his worth in recent weeks.

The 26-year-old has hit four goals in his last three appearances, and scored a brace in Everton’s last outing against Stoke City.

And Sharp said: “Talking to the people in and around the training ground, the one thing they said straight away was that he was a fantastic finisher, and I think the goals he’s scored recently have shown you that. He scores all sorts of goals, so hopefully that’s good for the future and we can kick on from now.

“I think he will want to finish the season strongly now and, if that’s the case, it will push us further up the table.”

Tosun now seems to have made Everton’s striking position his own, and looks set to have a key role to play over the remainder of the season.

The Toffees reached 40 points with their win over Stoke, to end any lingering fears of relegation, and they can now play with more freedom.

Everton have badly disappointed this term, and look destined to finish in mid-table.

Everton are next in action in two weekends’ time when they take on the champions-in-waiting, Manchester City, at Goodison Park.
