Glasgow Rangers boss Graeme Murty has heaped praise upon Jason Cummings after he completed his loan move to Ibrox.
Cummings became the Gers’ third signing of the January transfer window after following Sean Goss and Jamie Murphy by signing for the Scottish Premiership side on loan. Russell Martin has since also moved to Ibrox on a temporary deal.
Despite struggling to break into Nottingham Forest’s side during his time in the Championship, Cummings is certainly no stranger to the Rangers fans, having played against them on numerous occasions during his time with Hibernian, and they will have some idea of his character. And Murty suggested that that character should now help the 22-year-old make a success of his time with Rangers.
“We need that kind of personality that is going to go again and again and again and be relentless because we want our players and our teams to be relentless.
“We want that to be part of our nature as both a team and as a club.”
Given Cummings’ form at Easter Road and his confident personality, it really would not be a surprise if he managed to make his time with the Gers extremely successful – especially as it comes after what appeared to be a frustrating spell at the City Ground that may motivate him further.
And if the rest of Rangers’ squad add those battling qualities that Murty has seen in Cummings, then that surely gives them a much better chance of turning Ibrox into a fortress once again and getting back into the top two in the top flight.
