Glasgow Rangers defender David Bates is playing well for Graeme Murty’s Ibrox side at the moment.

Bates’s current deal with Rangers runs out in the summer of 2018, according to Transfermarkt.com.
Murty told The Scottish Sun about Bates: “The more he plays the more chance he has. We have to be respectful to David and his career. He’s taken the chance of playing in our first team with both hands.
“As a manager that delights me because I have a young man who is performing well. As for the contract status, you’ll have to talk to the director of football.”

New contract for David Bates?
Bates is one of the most promising and talented young defenders in Scotland, and his performances in recent weeks for Rangers have been great.
The 21-year-old has established himself as a key figure in the Gers’ first team and is playing regularly at the moment.
The former Raith Rovers youngster has been so good that he is keeping Portugal international central defender out of the team at the moment.

If Bates continues to play well, then it would make sense for Rangers to hand the club’s director of football Mark Allen.
Rangers are going strong in the Scottish Premiership at the moment and could launch a serious challenge for the league title in the coming weeks.
