Glasgow Rangers got back to winning ways as they picked up a hugely impressive victory at Ibrox.

Bruno Alves of Rangers attempts an overhead kick during the Scottish Cup Quarter Final match between Rangers and Falkirk at Ibrox Stadium on March 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Graeme Murty has told Rangers’ official website that he was pleased with Ross McCrorie’s performance in the win over Dundee, and praised Bruno Alves for the way that he handled being left out for the victory.

After taking one point from their previous three games, it was essential that the Gers got back to winning ways against Dee with the race for second, third and fourth in the Scottish Premiership looking set to go right down to the wire.

And they managed to bag the win as four different goalscorers helped the Light Blues to a 4-0 victory. But the game was also notable as it marked the return of McCrorie to the side with his most recent appearance coming back in December.

After the clash, Murty praised McCrorie’s performance, while he also expressed his gratitude towards Alves after he dropped down the bench before playing the final 25 minutes in the victory.

Bruno Alves of Rangers arrives at the stadium prior to the Scottish Premier League match between Celtic and Ranger at Celtic Park on December 30, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

“I thought Ross McCrorie did well, Bruno Alves was an excellent professional, reacting to not playing but he came on and put in sterling service,” he told the club’s official website.

“I’m pleased for the players, I’m pleased for those guys that came in off the bench as well and I’m pleased for us to get back to winning ways.”

While Alves has not won the Rangers fans over since arriving at Ibrox in the summer, it certainly does appear that he has shown a lot of professionalism having struggled for a consistent place in the team since Pedro Caixinha departed back in October.

But with McCrorie surely set to be a first choice as long as he keeps himself fit, there may be another frustrating spell on the cards for the veteran during the coming months, which is one of the last things he will want with a World Cup just around the corner.
