Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers lost to Kilmarnock away from Ibrox.

The Gers suffered a 2-1 defeat Kilmarnock away from home at Rugby Park in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.
Declan John put the Ibrox club in the lead in the 39th minute, but former Rangers striker Kris Boyd scored twice in three minutes late in the second half.
Rangers manager Murty has revealed what he told his players at half time and at full time.

Murty told Rangers’ official website: “I said at half-time that what we didn’t want to do is give them opportunities in the box, no silly free-kicks, no opportunity for them to build momentum.
“And for the first 10 minutes all we did was give them the ball, give free-kicks away and allow them to load it in the box.”
“We talked at half-time about making sure that we didn’t get pushed back, we talked about making sure we had a clean sheet and making sure we won the second half and pushed on and got on the front foot,” added Murty.
“But they pushed us back and pushed us back and we didn’t do enough to actually trouble them.
“I didn’t think we kept the ball well enough and we didn’t move the ball well enough, having said that we’ve had some good opportunities of our own in the second half to go and score.
“As I’ve just said I didn’t think we were clinical enough or ruthless enough in either box and I definitely learned that we need to do the basics better.”

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Rugby Park on Saturday afternoon, hosts Kilmarnock had 53% of the possession, took 12 shots of which seven were on target, and earned five corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors Rangers had 47% of the possession, took six shots of which three were on target, and failed to earn a single corner, according to BBC Sport.
The result means that Rangers are third in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 36 points from 20 matches, as many as 11 points behind leaders and Old Firm rivals Celtic.
Meanwhile, former Rangers striker Ally McCoist commented on the Gers’ decision to appoint Murty as their manager until the end of the season, and said on the Scottish Football Extra show on BT Sport 1 on Saturday morning (11:30am, December 23, 2017) while discussing the club’s decision to give him the final say in transfers: “So if that’s the case, you would probably give him a long-term contract.
“So he might possibly be given the key to the transfer window in January, and he might not be there in May. I find that a little bit strange.”
