Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have gone almost a month without replacing Pedro Caixinha.
Speaking to Rangers TV, Graeme Murty has revealed that he has told his players not to worry about the club’s ongoing manager search and focus on their performances.
It has been 28 days since Pedro Caixinha was sacked by Rangers and although plenty of names have been linked, the club’s hierarchy do not appear to be any closer to naming a replacement.
Murty has taken charge of the first team in a caretaker capacity and will oversee Friday night’s clash with Dundee, having won two and lost one of his three games in charge thus far.
And the 43-year-old was clear in saying that his players should concentrate on the things that they can control and try to shelve any confusion over the lengthy replacement process.
He told Rangers TV: “I’ve told the boys to control what they can control. They can’t control the board and they can’t control how long this is going to take.
“We have to be wise enough to accept those things that we cannot change. I’ve encouraged the players to focus within and we’ve tried to do that this week.”
Last week’s 2-0 defeat by Hamilton at Ibrox might have put paid to Murty’s hopes of earning the role on a full-time basis.
ESPN reported last week that Ange Postecoglou was interested in the Gers job, before quitting his role as Australia manager in a development which might well be linked to the Rangers position.
