Rangers came from behind to beat Hearts 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Rangers won their first game of the post-Pedro Caixinha era on Saturday afternoon, as they came from a goal down to beat Hearts 3-1 at Murrayfield.
The Gers parted company with manager Caixinha on Thursday afternoon, less than 24 hours after the 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock on Wednesday night, leaving Graeme Murty to take charge as caretaker against Hearts on Saturday.
Murty’s afternoon got off to a terrible start, as former Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty stepped up to whip a sensational free kick into the top corner of the net, giving Wes Foderingham no chance.
Rangers hit back though, and it just had to be Kenny Miller to pull the Gers level, turning home Alfredo Morelos’ through ball to find the net having been exiled by former manager Caixinha.
Miller then continued to prove Caixinha wrong for leaving him out as he then put Rangers in front, finishing off James Tavernier’s superb cross with a deft header.
Josh Windass added a third for Rangers to finish off the game at 3-1, latching onto Miller’s pass before cutting inside and driving the ball into the net with a fine left-footed strike.
Earlier this morning, Rangers caretaker Murty took to Twitter to send a message to fans, thanking them for their support whilst praising the performance – even if it was only one game.
The likes of Windass, Tavernier, Ross McCrorie, Jamie Barjonas and Ryan Hardie also sent messages to fans after a morale-boosting victory for Rangers.
