Glasgow Rangers manager Graeme Murty spoke to former Ibrox star Steven Naismith before his loan move from Norwich City to Heart of Midlothian.

Former Rangers star Naismith, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a forward, has joined the Gers’ Scottish Premiership rivals Hearts on loan from Norwich in the Championship in England in the January transfer window until the end of the season.
According to The Scottish Sun, Naismith was open to moving to his former club Rangers and was willing to play for the Ibrox side for free for the rest of the season.
Rangers manager Murty has revealed that he did speak to the 31-year-old Scotland international.
Murty, though, has stated that the Gers did not make a bid for the former Kilmarnock attacker.

“I talked to Steven, but we were concentrating on the guys we have brought in,” Murty told The Scottish Sun. “Did we make a bid? No.
“We were looking at lots of players, so the guys we have brought in were those guys we targeted as must haves.”

Naismith was on the books of Rangers from 2007 until 2012 and was quite successful during his spell at Ibrox, winning the league title thrice, the Scottish Cup once and the Scottish League Cup twice.
Rangers are third in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment and are aiming to finish second in the standings this season.
