Glasgow Rangers signings Glen Kamara and Matt Polster featured for the Ibrox side.

Graeme Murty has told Rangers’ official website that he was delighted with both Matt Polster and Glen Kamara after the pair featured for the Gers’ reserves side that beat Morton 5-0 on Wednesday.
Both Polster and Kamara made the move to Ibrox in the final days of the January transfer window. It may not be too long before Steven Gerrard decides to hand the pair their first-team debuts for the Light Blues, but for now, they are currently working with Murty’s side to build their fitness up.
And they both started the clash with Morton this week, which ended in a 5-0 victory for the Gers as Josh McPake scored a hat-trick and Glenn Middleton bagged a brace.
And after the game, Murty could not speak high enough of the pair and their influence on the side.

“They were really, really good in terms of their attitude, their application and their ability as well,” he told the club’s official website. “Our young players really benefitted from playing alongside them and they look as though they are going to get fitter and stronger when they get up to match pace with the first team.
“They are going to be really good additions in terms of play, in terms of integration, in terms of character – they were top drawer today.”

It says a lot about the depth available to Gerrard that so many players who have featured regularly in matchday squads are dropping down into the reserves to maintain their fitness levels. Along with Middleton, Gareth McAuley and Jon Flanagan were also involved.
It is not clear when Gerrard plans to use the pair in the senior side. But with the next round of the Scottish Cup ahead this weekend, perhaps it should not be the greatest surprise if Kamara and Polster are involved in the squad that travel to Kilmarnock.
