Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have a “fantastic leader” in Ross McCrorie it seems.
Rangers boss Graeme Murty has told the club’s official website that Ross McCrorie is developing into a “fantastic leader” for the Ibrox club.
The 19-year-old is enjoying a wonderful breakthrough season at Rangers after making 16 Premiership appearances so far – 15 of those were from the start.
Circumstance has opened the door for other players to start taking responsibility due to the absence of veterans such as Kenny Miller, Bruno Alves, Lee Wallace and Graham Dorrans.
Murty has handed the captain’s armband to midfielder Jason Holt but the 43-year-old manager claims that he is still really impressed by the leadership qualities that he has noticed in young McCrorie.
He told Rangers’ official website: “I think it’s an opportunity for lots of people to lead. We have some young people in the team, but one of the youngest, Ross McCrorie, is a fantastic leader, and he is only growing into the role.
McCrorie is also out injured at the moment and his absence has been felt.
Whether it’s in defensive midfield or central defence, McCrorie, who has been with the Gers since he was 14, has had a big impact and Murty needs him back.
