Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers were beaten 3-1 by St. Johnstone in their most recent match.

Rangers manager Graeme Murty is seen during the Scottish Cup Quarter final match between Rangers and Hamilton Academical at Ibrox Stadium on March 4, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Graeme Murty has told the Daily Record that Carlos Pena and Fabio Cardoso could be recalled to Glasgow Rangers’ team to face Kilmarnock at the weekend.

Cardoso has missed Rangers last three matches with injury, while Pena was absent in Murty’s side’s last match against St. Johnstone.

The pair are closing on a return at Ibrox now though, and Murty has confirmed that he could call upon them on Saturday.

“Carlos and Fabio are able to be involved at the weekend,” Murty said.

Rangers currently have a number of their first-team players out injured, but their problems are reducing.

Jordan Rossiter, Jack Alnwick and Lee Wallace are all closing in on returns, which will improve Murty’s options at Ibrox.

“Jak Alnwick has also had an injection in his ankle as he has had a problem for a small amount of time,” Murty added.

“We are hoping this injection could clear it up, but we are going to have to give him a rest for a period, but hopefully that’s not too long.

“Lee is getting closer, but I think he is going to need minutes.

“It’s encouraging to see the signs and encouraging to see the speed and the tempo he has been able to play at.”

Rangers lost their last match against St. Johnstone 3-1 at Ibrox, which could lead to Murty making changes.

The Light Blues were well off the pace during their last outing, and they have slipped down to third place in the Scottish Premiership table.

If Rangers are to pick up a victory against Kilmarnock, they could leapfrog Aberdeen again, and begin to put some pressure on Celtic, who lost for the first time in domestic competition since Brendan Rodgers took charge on Sunday.
