Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are gearing up for the January transfer window.
Speaking to The Glasgow Evening Times, Rangers boss Graeme Murty has hinted that he plans on conducting his January business early by revealing that he wants new signings on board before the club’s mid-season trip to Florida.
The Gers visit Celtic in tomorrow’s Old Firm clash at Parkhead before jetting off to the United States for the winter break on January 6.
It was revealed last week that the 43-year-old has full control of Rangers’ January transfer business since officially earning the job until the end of the season.
Director of Football Mark Allen was previously in charge of player recruitment, but this time Murty has the final say and the 43-year-old hints that he wants to get his business done very early.
He told The Glasgow Evening Times: “Ideally we’d have the players in to come to Florida with us, you’d like to be working with the squad that you’re going to be working with towards the latter half of the season.
“We all know what the window in like though, things can happen really quickly or things can take a long time.”
Victory over table-topping Celtic tomorrow would reduce the gap to eight points and a good transfer window could make a huge difference to Rangers as they chase down the Hoops during the second half of the campaign.
