Rangers are still plotting to bring players to Ibrox in January, with Graeme Murty insisting Mark Allen has it all in hand.
Rangers are still searching for a permanent replacement for manager Pedro Caixinha, but plans to bring players to Ibrox are still moving ahead.
Caretaker boss Graeme Murty has said that while he is not yet privy to exact targets, director of football Mark Allen has been planning ahead for several months and players have been identified who could arrive in Glasgow.
He also did add that he has at least been consulted and asked for his ideas on potential Rangers incomings.
Rangers announced Murty would continue as manager until the end of 2017 this week after the Light Blues’ approach for Derek McInnes ended in failure.
Murty may not be in charge by the end of January, and thats why it is encouraging that work is going on above him to sort out potential transfers while he focuses on the task at hand of picking the team and coaching.
He told The Telegraph: “Identifying players is down to the new scouting department that’s been put together expressly for that purpose.
“Those things will be collated by Mark Allen [director of football]. As to who the personnel are I’m not sure yet, but my thoughts have been asked for and given freely.
“That’s how we operate. The person who comes in as permanent manager will get the benefit of that, albeit he might want some input also.”
But his true value will be shown in January and next summer with the calibre of players Rangers can potentially bring in.
Rangers are in second place in the Scottish Premiership, after beating Ross County 2-1 at home this weekend.
