Graeme Murty issues warning to clubs chasing Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos

Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has seemingly created some doubt surrounding his Ibrox future.

In comments reported by BT Sport, Graeme Murty has suggested that it is going to take an enormous figure to tempt Rangers into selling Alfredo Morelos after the striker created some doubt surrounding his Ibrox future.

According to BT Sport, Morelos gave an interview to Colombian television where he suggested that he would be very keen to consider making a move to the Premier League at the end of the season.

And while Murty did not look to quash all talk of a potential exit, he insisted that only a crazy offer would be able to tempt Rangers to sell one of their best players, and he also suggested that he has no problem with one of his squad members expressing some ambition.

“Unless someone walks in with a barrowload of cash – and a big barrowload – he will be a Rangers player,” he said, as reported by BT Sport.

“I want players who have aspirations to be in a better place. Hopefully we can get better at Rangers.

“But the big prize is to play in the Premier League. You can safeguard your family’s future with one move. If we have someone good enough to go there, it’s fantastic for us.”

It would undoubtedly prove a huge blow for Rangers if they ended up losing Morelos at the end of the season. The Colombian tops the scoring charts in the Scottish Premiership, with his goal against Aberdeen on Wednesday night taking his tally to 11 in his first season in the top flight.

It would be no surprise therefore, if Rangers had to respond to offers for the youngster during the summer transfer window. And with the player hinting that he would be keen to consider his options if the right bid came along, it would also prove to be a fantastic statement from the Gers if they managed to stand firm and hold onto the player into next season.
