Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers still have Graeme Murty in temporary charge, following their dismissal of Pedro Caixinha.

Graeme Murty has told Glasgow Rangers’ official website that Kenny Miller has been brilliant in training since the day he arrived, and that is no surprise.

Miller appeared to have a strained relationship with former Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha.

However, he has been welcomed back into the first-team fold with open arms by Murty, and the veteran forward has already begun to repay the caretaker manager’s faith.

Miller scored twice in Rangers’ recent victory over Hearts, to prove his worth to the Ibrox side.

And Murty said: “For me Kenny has always been a great trainer, a good voice, a positive voice, and we have to make sure we have more of that ilk, players who want to train at that standard and who want to push the football club forward.

“But I think you see his impact on the pitch. In his first game back he scores two and gets an assist, but the people who work with him every day aren’t surprised because that’s how he trains.”

Prior to his brace against Hearts, Miller had struggled to find the back of the net for Rangers this season.

Murty remains in caretaker charge at Rangers for the time being, but it is thought that a permanent appointment could be edging closer.

Rangers have a two week break from competitive matches, due to international fixtures, and they will be hoping to have a new man in charge by the time that the Scottish Premiership action returns.
