Glasgow Rangers youngster Andy Dallas underlined his talent this week with a hat-trick for the under-19s.

Dallas’ treble came in a 5-0 away win over their Hamburg counterparts.

Coach Graeme Murty, former Rangers first team boss, was thrilled with Dallas’ performance.

He said that he feels Dallas is the ideal forward for his set up and that the youngster’s combination of the right attitude and ability sets him up for success.

Speaking to Rangers’ official website, Murty said: “He was the perfect foil for us at times.

“We know Andy is a very explosive player and he is very strong, and some of his link-up play as well was excellent.

Rangers manager Graeme Murty is seen during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Aberdeen at Ibrox Stadium on January 24, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

“We are hopeful he continues to improve as he has some very, very good attributes to his game and he is working extremely hard as they all are to try and iron out those other wrinkles that we all have.”

Dallas’ strong form could not come at better time, with a potential vacancy in the first team on the horizon.

Rangers need an alternative for the bench in the upcoming Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen at the end of the month due to Alfredo Morelos’ suspension.

The Gers had hoped loanee Umar Sadiq could fill that spot but he is still behind where Rangers want him to be and Dallas is elevating himself into the discussion.
