Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have now been looking for a new permanent manager for almost two weeks.
Glasgow Rangers caretaker boss Graeme Murty has told the Glasgow Evening Times that the Ibrox side’s players have responded well in his training session.
Rangers parted company with Mark Warburton two weekends’ ago, in what was a rather surprising move.
However, Murty insists that Rangers’ players have been training well – even though they haven’t been in great form on the pitch.
“The most galling thing for me [against Dundee] was the performance wasn’t indicative of the training they’d put in all week,” Murty said.
“They worked extremely hard and they were very intense during the week. So, the disappointing thing for me was the players didn’t show their attributes and skills to the best of their abilities until it was too late.”
Rangers were beaten 2-1 by Dundee in their last match, and their performance was very poor.
Rangers looked completely out of sorts, as their miserable campaign continued.
Rangers are now 30 points behind Celtic and, arguably more worryingly, they are having to play catch up in the race for second place with Aberdeen.
Murty looks set to continue at Rangers for the time being, with no appointment of a new permanent manager imminent.
Rangers are next in action on Friday evening, when they take on Inverness.
