Burt has made a handful of appearances for the Glasgow Rangers first-team.
Rangers academy coach Graeme Murty has explained what he sees in current Gers starlet Liam Burt that makes him stand out in the first-team, The Scottish Sun reports.
Burt is arguably one of the brightest prospects currently coming through at Ibrox, and was rewarded for his development with a brief cameo appearance in the club’s Scottish Premiership win over Hearts at the weekend.

But with so many academy starlets ultimately failing to build on their early promise, there will surely be some concern amongst Light Blues supporters about whether Burt will grow into a player capable of becoming a key man in Mark Warburton’s squad.
However, Murty has offered some assurances by suggesting that Burt would be the kind of player that would receive Walter Smith’s approval based on how the legendary boss used to form an initial opinion on the prospects coming through during his tenure.
“I was talking to our head of academy Craig Mulholland,” he said, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
Walter Smith
“He said Walter, when he was talking about young players coming around to the first team squad, would always ask the question ‘What does he do?’.
“Every player in the first team squad can deal with the ball. They’re calm and they’ve got a level of technicality.
“But what do they do that’s different? Liam’s difference is he can play at pace, he can go past people and make things happen.”
Rangers manager Mark Warburton
The 17-year-old will arguably need to stand out if he hopes to add to his three league appearances in the near future. Rangers boast plenty of depth in the middle of the park when every player is fit, so the youngster arguably faces a difficult task trying to move his way up the pecking order.
But it appears that Murty has few concerns about his ability to do so.
