The Rangers winger hasn’t managed to win a first-team place at Ibrox, but his presence is helping others.
Grezda played for the Gers’ development side earlier on Wednesday, getting 70 minutes of action under his belt after a difficult few months on the fringes of Steven Gerrard’s squad.
The Ibrox boss spent most of the summer talking about how the player was close to a transfer exit after being excluded from his plans.
However, with no move materialising, it appears the Albanian is caught in limbo.
Murty though believes that by playing for the second string, he’s at least helping out young players coming through at the club.
As quoted by rangers.co.uk, the coach said: “Having Eros with us as we have done, he is a full international, the guys got electric feet and an understanding of the broader game that our guys sometimes don’t have so for us to learn of them is really good.
“Our guys are in charge of their own careers and they have to drive their own careers now and having those guys along will give them guidelines and steps on how they are going to make improvements.”
What next for Grezda?
It seems pretty unlikely that the Albanian international will be seen in the senior side again. Gerrard has made it quite clear he has now place in his first-team.
That may seem harsh from the outside, but the Rangers manager must have his reasons.
The Ibrox side currently have plenty of options of the wings already, all of whom have shown more than Grezda has since signing up last summer.
If Murty feels he can get some benefit out of him though, that’s better than completely casting him aside.
