Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have made Sean Goss their first signing of the January transfer window.
Murty has signed on at Ibrox on a loan deal from Queens Park Rangers, and is desperate for game time.
The 22-year-old midfielder has found his chances limited at both Manchester United and QPR, but Murty insists that Goss will come into his first-team plans at Rangers.
“I see lots of young people sitting on good money, comfortable with not playing football,” Murty said. “Sean wanted to come here and go again. That speaks volumes for him.
“We hope to give him that platform. Hopefully we can do as much for him as he’ll do for us.
“When things are difficult and teams are hard to break down we need someone who can dictate the tempo for us and hopefully Sean can help us there. He’s aggressive on the press so I believe Sean can be that guy.”
Goss’ arrival at Rangers increases Murty’s midfield options, following the departure of Carlos Pena.
Rangers have yet to find the perfect match in the centre of midfield, with a number of options tried out in that area this term.
Goss has immediately joined his new Rangers’ teammates in America, where they are participating in the Florida Cup.
Goss could even make his non-competitive debut for Rangers this evening, when Murty’s side take on Atletico Mineiro.
Rangers are next in competitive action in just over a week’s time, when they take on Fraserburgh.
