Glasgow Rangers may be without Ross McCrorie on Wednesday, while Jak Alnwick is also doubtful for the Ibrox side.

With Graham Dorrans already injured and Ryan Jack currently suspended, the last thing Murty needed was for McCrorie to pick up an injury on Saturday – but the youngster had to be taken off after playing the majority of the game with the problem.

Given how well McCrorie has played since coming into the side, Rangers fans would have been willing the teenager to get back as quickly as possible – but Murty has suggested that Wednesday’s trip to Easter Road may come too soon for the academy graduate.
“Ross is currently doubtful,” he told the club’s official YouTube channel. “He didn’t train today. He took a sore one on his foot, but he’s a resilient guy, we’re hopeful. We just don’t want to put too much pressure on him because he’s only a young man still so it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to put too much pressure on him – but we’ll see how he comes through tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Wes Foderingham’s usual understudy Alnwick was missing from the most recent squad with Liam Kelly taking his place on the bench. And just before confirming that the former Newcastle trainee was doubtful for the Hibs clash, Murty explained why he was missing from Saturday’s squad.
“Jak’s being checked on his ankle at the moment. That’s why he missed the game at the weekend. He’s seen our medical staff today,” he added, before confirming that he is also a doubt.
Of course, Alnwick’s absence – if he does miss the game – will not be as difficult to cope with as McCrorie’s will be if he does not win his race to be fit for the game.
McCrorie has been fantastic lately, especially in his role sitting just in front of the defence, so losing him for the game at Easter Road may well make Rangers’ job in making it four wins on the bounce much tougher.
