Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers lost their Scottish Premiership showdown with Celtic.

Graeme Murty has told The Daily Record that his Rangers side have missed a great opportunity to beat Celtic.
The Gers lost 3-2 to Celtic in an electric Old Firm derby at Ibrox in which Brendan Rodgers’s side twice came from behind to win the game.
In addition to that, Celtic played over half-an-hour with 10 men after a red card for Jozo Simunovic, before second-half substitute Odsonne Edouard curled home a wonderful winner for the Hoops.
Murty’s side were twice pegged back by goals from Tom Rogic and Moussa Dembele, and the Rangers boss, whose side boasted a six-match winning streak prior to kickoff, feels that his troops have let a big chance pass them by today.
He told The Record: “I’ve just told the players in the changing room you’ll never have a better opportunity to go and win the game. And we’ve let that opportunity go away.”
Murty is right. It was a huge chance for Rangers not only in regards to proving a point against their Old Firm rivals, but to reduce the gap to three points at the summit. Failing to do so means that Celtic – who also have a game in hand – are now nine points ahead of Murty’s side.
It looks like the Hoops are going to win a seventh successive Premiership title this season and Murty will now focus on getting the job on a full-time basis and preparing for next season.
