Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers will face Hamilton Academical at Ibrox. Graham Dorrans is out, but Fabio Cardoso is available for the Gers.

Rangers manager Graeme Murty is seen during the Scottish Cup Quarter final match between Rangers and Hamilton Academical at Ibrox Stadium on March 4, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers caretaker-manager Graeme Murty has told the club’s official website that Graham Dorrans will miss the match against Hamilton Academical this weekend.

The Gers will take on Hamilton at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

Dorrans, who joined Rangers from Norwich City in the Championship in England in the summer transfer window, will not feature in the game.

The 30-year-old midfielder is still recovering from an ankle injury he suffered against Kilmarnock at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.

“Graham had a consult and a scan down south,” Murty told Rangers’ official website. “He’s had a positive resolution for us so he can move forward now. We’re not going to have to have an invasive solution to it so that’s really positive for us.

“He’ll be out for a period, I don’t know what that period will be. As soon as we get that we’ll pass it over to our media department and then it will come out.”

Murty, though, has some positive news for Rangers fans. The caretaker-manager has suggested that Fabio Cardoso is back in contention.

The 23-year-old central defender, who joined the Gers in the summer transfer window from Vitoria Setubal, has recovered from a broken nose.

“Yes, he played the other day at Berwick,” said Murty about Cardoso. “His English is fantastic and we had a good chat about his sensation the first few times he went up for a header and his trepidation almost.

“But he got over it and it was important for him to go and get a game, to go and actually see that he was going to be okay and now we can just escalate what he’s doing and take him up to that next level and make sure he’s prepped fully.”

Rangers paid £1.3 million as transfer fee for Dorrans, according to Sky Sports, while the Ibrox outfit paid £1.3m as well as transfer fee for Cardoso, according to The Daily Record.
