Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are keen to tie down Josh Windass and Danny Wilson in the near future.

Rangers manager Graeme Murty during the Scottish Premier League match between Celtic and Ranger at Celtic Park on December 30, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Glasgow Rangers boss Graeme Murty has told the Scottish Herald that Josh Windass’ and Danny Wilson’s futures are being discussed internally at Ibrox.

Windass and Wilson have both been in good form for Rangers recently, and new deals are now being talked about for the pair.

Although Windass and Wilson are yet to be presented with new terms, Rangers are keen to tie them both down.

Josh Windass of Rangers has a shot on goal during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers FC and Celtic FC at Ibrox Stadium on April 29, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

And Murty said: “These are guys that are performing well and when players are performing well then it’s up to the manager to talk to them, keep them in the loop and get an understanding of where they see themselves in the next year.

“Our discussions with them will be on-going although as to lengths of contracts that’s something I will talk to the players about.

“We have spoken to both about their situations but so far detailed discussions haven’t taken place.

“We are aware of their situation and they are aware we are talking internally.”

Danny Wilson of Rangers heads the ball during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox Stadium on December 31, 2016 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Wilson’s contract expires at the end of the season, so his future may be the more pressing priority for Rangers.

Windass’ deal lasts until 2020, but Rangers will not want to allow the midfielder’s contract to enter its last year.

Rangers have seen, after losing Barrie McKay, just how important it is sort players’ futures out sooner rather than later.

Rangers have already been actively in the January transfer window, and appear to have funds to invest.

Rangers are next in competitive action at the weekend, when they take on Fraserburgh in cup competition.
