Tottenham currently lie in fifth position but remain unbeaten in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur are enjoying an unbeaten start to their Premier League campaign, however that’s not to say that their raft of new signings are necessarily the cause for it. So let’s take a look at how each of Spurs’ summer acquisitions are bedding in.

Moussa Sissoko

A textbook panic buy from relegated Newcastle United on deadline day and his Tottenham career thus far reflects that. We haven’t seen the powerful and potent midfield performances which he produced during the Euros yet and his displays against sides like AFC Bournemouth and Bayer Leverkusen hint at a player with absolutely no end product. It’s early days, but it’s not looking good for the Frenchman. C-

Vincent Janssen

After his prolific spell at AZ Alkmaar caught the eye of Mauricio Pochettino, it is safe to say that Janssen has yet to replicate anything like what he seemed capable of in the Dutch league. An injury to Harry Kane has meant we’ve seen a lot of the Netherlands international, but absolutely nothing to convince us that he’s ready for life in the Premier League, having not yet scored from open play. His lack of pace especially is a concern, considering that’s something that is not readily improved. D

Victor Wanyama

The Kenyan has proven as astute a buy as any in the league thus far, with a series of confident displays from the heart of the Spurs midfield. Wanyama has taken full advantage of Mousa Dembele’s early-season suspension and has marauded his way through a number of teams with ease. It was always going to be a question of making the step up from Southampton and Wanyama has certainly done that to this point. A

Georges-Kevin N’Koudou

The young French winger has found it difficult to break into the starting XI thus far but from what we have seen in his cup and substitute appearances, he already possesses all the trickery and guile necessary to make a name for himself. Should Spurs need an attacking reshuffle to get the goals flowing again, N’Koudou will be at the forefront of Pochettino’s thinking for that left-hand side position. B

Pau Lopez

It is not immediately clear why Tottenham signed another goalkeeper, especially one on loan from Espanyol. With Hugo Lloris taking the bulk of the game time, with Michel Vorm as his deputy, it’s possible that Lopez could be one for the future if Spurs choose to make the loan permanent. C
