Leeds United may have the incentive they need to move for former winger Max Gradel.

Max Gradel was a fan favourite at Leeds United and it is no secret that fans would love him back at Elland Road.

That could not have seemed further away in 2015 when the winger clinched a big money move from St Etienne to Bournemouth, but now the Whites may be in a position to prise him away from the Cherries.

The Mail report that Gradel is unhappy with his lack of first team action at Bournemouth, and is ready to ask to leave.

He is currently on international duty with Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations, which could make any move this month more complicated – but a loan deal could be best for all.

Premier League side Burnley are reported to be interested in the winger, but Championship high fliers Leeds should pay close attention too.

Gradel, 29, is a former Leeds player of the year and starred for the club between 2009 and 2011, scoring 25 goals for the club.

He is a player who could add a lot to Leeds whether it be now, or in the summer, whether they be in the Premier League or Championship at this point.

Currently the Whites are fifth in the Championship and are eyeing promotion, and Gradel would be a game changer for them. A move on loan could mean kicking financial arguments over a fee down the line to the summer, and simply granting the player’s request.

Bournemouth may decide to stand firm and keep Gradel put, but if they do cede to his potential request to leave, then Leeds have to get in the mix, and could be a strong contender due to their previous history with the Ivorian.

A move could be the difference maker Leeds need to win promotion.
