Tam McManus has praised Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos on Twitter for the Ibrox star’s heroics last night.
Morelos scored for Rangers in their 3-3 draw with Benfica away from home in Portugal in Europa League Group D on Thursday evening.
The 24-year-old Colombia international striker found the back of the net six minutes into the second half.
It was Morelos’s 22nd goal in Europe for Rangers, meaning that he overtook Ally McCoist as the top scorer for the Gers in European club competitions.
Former Hibernian forward McManus, who now works as a pundit for PLZ Soccer, was impressed with Morelos and has praised the striker.
Big player for Rangers
There have been times when Morelos has not been at his best, but the striker is a proven goalscorer.
The 24-year-old becoming the top scorer for Rangers in Europe is no mean feat, and the Colombian should be praised for his achievement.
Despite the presence of fellow strikers Cedric Itten, Kemar Roofe and Jermain Defoe in the squad, Morelos remains a big player for Rangers manager Steven Gerrard and will be key in their quest to achieve success this season.
