Paul Merson has said that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen would be a brilliant signing for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
The former Arsenal star believes that if Gunners manager Mikel Arteta wants to sign a new striker for next season and beyond, then he should go for Osimhen.
Merson has noted on Sky Sports News (12:17pm, April 29, 2023) that the Napoli striker can score goals and wants to do so.
Arsenal have actually been linked with the Nigeria international.
Ciro Venerato claimed in March 2023 that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta really likes the 24-year-old.

Merson said: “You have got to try to get the lad from Napoli. Who is going to get him? But he is the one.
“If Arsenal can get him, then you are talking about a striker who can score goals, who wants to score goals.”

Yes, Gabriel Jesus is the main striker at the Gunners at the moment, but Osimhen is a more prolific goalscorer than the Brazil international.
And, like Jesus, he has experience of playing in the UEFA Champions League.
The Nigerian star has made 23 starts and two substitute appearances in Serie A for Napoli this season.
Osimhen has scored 21 goals and given four assists in those games.
The striker also scored five goals in five UEFA Champions League starts for Napoli this campaign.
