Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are worried by Nuno’s decision to name a completely changed line-up tonight.

Big changes ahead

Nuno confirmed to Football London at his press conference yesterday that Tottenham would be making plenty of changes to their team for their match against Vitesse this evening.

Spurs are set to take on the Dutch side in the UEFA Conference League, but Nuno has sent a clear indication over where the competition lies in his priorities this season.

Tottenham have allowed all 10 of the outfield players who started against Newcastle United the match-day off.

He said: “We consider that it’s better for us to start the players that are going to start, leave some players here, work, recover well, so we can be able to compete better on the Sunday, and then we have Wednesday, and over and over again.”

But many Spurs fans are now concerned that they could find things tough against their opponents later.

Pressure on

Nuno’s strategy is unlikely to come under too much abuse this evening, whatever the result.

However, he has now put himself under real pressure to win on Sunday.

If Tottenham were to lose tonight and then get beaten by West Ham United, with a fully rested side, then his team selections would come under serious scrutiny.

However, if Spurs can get the three points against West Ham at the weekend then all is likely to be forgiven, as a victory at the London Stadium would push them right up into contention for the top four.
