Kieran Tierney is making Arsenal fans fall in love with him – and it’s not only because he’s a brilliant footballer.
The former Celtic left-back dazzled in Arsenal’s 4-0 win away to West Brom on Saturday, scoring a wonderful opening goal and setting up another for Alex Lacazette.
As of this morning, the 23-year-old’s stock has never been higher among Arsenal supporters, but they’re also quite taken with his stoicism with regards to cold weather.
Last night, Tierney wore a short sleeve jersey in spite of the frosty, icy conditions in the West Midlands.
But the Scot will be well used to the cold weather by now, by virtue of the fact that at London Colney he has been braving the weather in just a training t-shirt and shorts, which might not sound too impressive, but it is when every single one of your team-mates – including head coach Mikel Arteta – is covered from head to toe in thermal gear, hats and snoods.
And Arteta, speaking to Arsenal’s official website, has reassured people that there’s no element of theatre involved in Tierney’s training-ground attire, insisting that he has ‘something special in his blood’.
The Spanish coach said: “He’s got something special in his blood because we’re all wearing snoods, gloves and hats! He just goes out in his shorts and t shirt! It’s not like he’s acting, believe me. He’s very comfortable like that.”
