Well, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has come back to Earth anyway.
The 21-year-old was England’s hero in midweek by scoring two excellent goals to help the Three Lions record an opening-game World Cup win over Iran, romping home 6-2 victors.
Saka, who earns £30,000 per week at Arsenal [Spotrac], is one of Europe’s most exciting young talents and his performance on Monday proved as much.
However, Gareth Southgate’s side struggled against USA last night, drawing 0-0.
The Hale End academy graduate was markedly less effective against the Americans, despite a promising opening half an hour.

And Ian Wright has slightly criticised Saka for his lack of cover for Kieran Trippier behind him.
He told The Wrighty’s House podcast: “Our pressing, we just got it wrong. Saka was leaving space, wasn’t getting across.”
Even though it was a less effective outing from the English winger, it’s worth pointing out that he was still his country’s most promising player at times on Friday night.
Going into Tuesday’s final Group B outing with Wales, the Arsenal attacker simply has to be one of the first names on the teamsheet.
He has a remarkable knack of simply getting things done and that’s exactly what Southgate will be looking for next week as the Three Lions look to book their spot in the last 16 of the competition.
