Speaking on The Overlap, Gary Neville has been discussing Tottenham’s win against Manchester City at the weekend and Heung-Min Son’s performance.
The South Korean looked back to his best against the Cityzens on Sunday. His early run from his own half set the tempo for the game, and he made a number of smart passes and clever runs to help Tottenham unlock the City backline.
Neville felt as though this weekend could have been a turning point for Son, stating that the attacker looked like he got his spark and his pace back against City after looking drained for the majority of the season.

Neville hails Son
The pundit spoke highly of the Spurs ace’s performance at the weekend.
“Sunday was a big moment. Harry breaking the record, Kulusevski, Son. Son looked like he got his spark back, got his speed back. He looked completely drained before that. Spurs have more quality, more experience and will finish in the top four in my view,” Neville said.
Time to kick on
Neville is right, Son looked back to his best against City at the weekend, but this can’t just be a one-off performance.
Son has done this before. He netted a hat-trick against Leicester City back in September and it looked as though he was going to kick on from that point before slipping back into putting in turgid performances.
This showing against City has to be a genuine launching pad for Son to rediscover his best form, because Spurs need him playing well if they’re to achieve their goal of finishing in the top four this season.
Let’s hope that this performance can ignite Son’s season and kickstart a run of good form.
