Some Leeds United fans on social media have been reacting to Alfie McCalmont’s latest performance for Oldham Athletic.
The young Northern Irishman has really stepped up a gear in recent weeks, netting three and assisting one in his last five appearances, and he was on fire for Oldham on Friday.
Indeed, McCalmont netted an impressive free-kick before setting up another goal as the Latics routed Colchester United 5-2.
As you can imagine, Leeds fans had plenty to say about their young player’s showing, and they were quick to take to social media to make their feelings known.
Understandably, the Leeds fanbase were full of praise for the youngster, with some even claiming that he’s ready to play a part for the first-team next season.
Whether or not he does get a chance under Marcelo Bielsa remains to be seen, but performances like this certainly won’t do his chances any harm.
