Carlo Ancelotti has admitted to BT Sport that Everton midfielder James Rodriguez picked up an injury in their game against Fulham last night.
Everton were beaten 2-0 at Elland Road by the relegation strugglers in a game where very little went right for them.
The Toffees could not find their attacking groove, as they were thoroughly outplayed by Scott Parker’s men.
And things went from bad to worse in the second half for Everton, when Rodriguez had to be substituted.
The Colombian appeared in discomfort as he went off, and Ancelotti has now confirmed that he did have an injury issue.
“James Rodriguez got a knock and we have to see how he is tomorrow,” Ancelotti said.
Everton will be desperate for Rodriguez’s issue not to be a serious one.
With Dominic Calvert-Lewin already out injured, Everton can ill afford to lose another one of their key players.
The summer signing has been Everton’s real star turn this season, with his creativity and class often the difference in their matches.
With Everton pushing hard for a European spot they are likely to need all their most impactful players to stay fit, so losing Rodriguez for a lengthy period of time would be a major blow.
The Toffees face a very difficult week, as they have games against Manchester City and Liverpool coming up.
