Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor has been called up to the Scotland national squad.

Celtic’s McGregor was a late inclusion in to Scotland’s squad, for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Strachan side take on Slovakia and Slovenia in the next week, knowing that they are likely to require maximum points to stand a chance of being in Russia next year.
McGregor has never before been capped for his country, but he has been in fine form at Celtic in recent times.

And Rodgers clearly feels that the Bhoys man has what it takes to wear the blue shirt of his country.
“Callum has been in and out of the Celtic team – but when he gets in, he scores,” Strachan said.
“Brendan Rodgers texted me after I brought Callum in and told me, “He will never let you down”. I understand that.”
McGregor has enjoyed a big improvement at Celtic since Rodgers took charge, with the midfielder earning praise from a set of supporters who previously had some doubts over him.

McGregor has scored five goals in eight Scottish Premiership appearances so far this term, and he has claimed two assists during that time.
Scotland are currently in fourth place in their World Cup qualifying group, and are in a battle with Slovakia and Slovenia for second place.
