Former Rangers striker Gordon Dalziel has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he thinks Gers youngster Myles Beerman is a ‘terrific’ talent.
Rangers take on Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-finals at Hampden Park on Sunday afternoon, with new manager Pedro Caixinha looking to replicate last year’s win over the Bhoys at the same stage.
Whilst Mark Warburton’s men saw off a beleaguered Ronny Deila that day, Rangers face a much stiffer challenge this time around, as Celtic have yet to be beaten in domestic action this season.
With the Scottish League Cup and Scottish Premiership already tied up, Celtic can move closer to an incredible treble with a win over Rangers on Sunday – and Rangers will have to rely on two youngsters to aid their bid to beat the Bhoys.
Caixinha has a number of injuries to deal with right now, and he has been forced into using David Bates and Myles Beerman for the last three games, helping the Gers keep three clean sheets in a row.
Both players are set to keep their places against Celtic, with left back Beerman continuing to fill in for injured captain Lee Wallace, in what will be the biggest came of his career so far.
The 18-year-old joined Rangers from Manchester City last summer, and the Maltese teenager has earned rave reviews for his performances so far, starring in Rangers’ last three games.

Now, former Rangers striker and current pundit Gordon Dalziel has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he has been impressed with Beerman’s ability going forward, and whilst he still has to improve defensively, he is a ‘terrific, young, talented player’.
“I was at the Partick Thistle game at Ibrox on Saturday for Superscoreboard,” said Dalziel. “I think he’s a terrific, young, talented player, I really do. He still needs to do a little bit of work defensively, still has a bit to learn.”
“But going forward it is a different story. The way he has fitted into the role has been impressive. He just looks comfortable for me. I thought Rangers were dire in the first 30 minutes against Thistle. He was the only one of their players who looked capable of doing anything. He is a potent attacking force,” he added
