Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react in horror after Squawka posted a statistic involving Manchester City shot-stopper Ederson.

Squawka revealed that the Brazil international had assisted more Premier League goals at home in 2021 than every Liverpool player has combined.

You may remember the £35 million glovesman assisted Ilkay Gundogan in the 3-0 win over Tottenham on February 13th, with an incredible long-range pass.

Of course, Liverpool have only scored one goal at Anfield in 2021, which was coincidentally conceded by Ederson.

However, there was no assist to show for it, as the strike was a penalty scored by Mohamed Salah, and also won by the Egypt international.

It goes without saying that things aren’t going well when a goalkeeper has more assists than an entire team combined.

Sadly, that’s just how things have been going for Liverpool in 2021.

It’s almost as if Jürgen Klopp struck a deal with the devil in order for his side to win the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

Of course, injuries have completely decimated the Reds. However, there’s still been enough talent on the pitch to score at least one non-penalty goal at Anfield in 2021.

Worryingly, Liverpool haven’t actually scored a goal from open play at Anfield since Sadio Mane netted against West Brom on December 27th.

Whatever is going on, Klopp needs to find a solution quickly.

Let’s see what the Liverpool fans have been saying about this eye-opening statistic…
