The 23-year-old striker was involved in all five goals for the Parisian side as PSG ran out 5-1 winners in a thumping win for the hosts, with Mbappe bagging two goals and three assists in an easy win for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Pundits and fans from across the continent were spellbound by Mbappe’s performance, as was Gary Lineker, who took to Twitter to post his amazement over the youngster’s superb performance on Sunday night.
A target for Liverpool as reported by Sport, Jurgen Klopp would have been amazed with what he saw from Mbappe for PSG, with the striker a dream signing for the Anfield side ahead of the summer.
With a reported wage of £413,000-a-week, though, Mbappe would be one of the most expensive pre-contract signings in history, with Real Madrid still the favourites to land the attacker at the end of this season.
And based on Mbappe’s performance this weekend against Lorient, the PSG star could well be worth the money, with the French attacker reaching new heights of excellence based on his recent displays this year.

Liverpool’s realistic chances of signing Mbappe are slipping further by the day, with Madrid and PSG likely to do battle over who the Frenchman signs for ahead of next season.
Moreover, with the Reds struggling to tie Mohamed Salah down to a new contract, Liverpool will no doubt be more focused on keeping their Egyptian king down to a fresh deal rather than chase Mbappe, despite his incredible qualities and display this previous weekend.
