Ross Barkley has stated on Instagram that it is ‘good to see’ Adam Forshaw back in action for Leeds United.

The £15 million Chelsea midfielder (BBC Sport) responded to the midfielder’s Instagram post after he made a first-team appearance for the first time in two years.

Forshaw was a crucial member of the XI that beat Crewe 3-0 in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night and the 30-year-old claimed it felt ‘amazing’ to be back in front of that Elland Road crowd.

Liam Cooper responded to Forshaw’s IG post by simply posting: “Well done.”.

Whilst Blackburn midfielder Bradley Johnson added by saying: “Good to see you back out there mate.”

Barkley also sent his congratulations to the combative midfielder: “Good to see you back in action lad.”

It’s going to be interesting to see how much game time Forshaw earns now because he has missed out on a lot of good moments.

From the team earning promotion and then producing an outstanding campaign last time out.

In truth, Leeds need that depth and quality in the middle of the park because there is too much reliance on Kalvin Phillips.

The quicker Forshaw can get that sharpness back into his legs then the better it is for Marcelo Bielsa and his side.

Leeds haven’t started the season as they would have liked because they have one point from two games.

But perhaps the most worrying aspect of them all is the seven goals they have conceded during their opening two matches.
