Tottenham defender Joe Rodon has stated on Instagram that it’s ‘good to be back’ as he returned to training with Wales.

The 23-year-old might not be earning the minutes out on the pitch at Spurs this season, but he will be hoping to get his engine going for this campaign on the international stage.

Rodon is yet to make a competitive appearance for Tottenham’s new boss, Nuno Espirito Santo.

On top of that, towards the back end of the last campaign, when Ryan Mason took temporary charge, his minutes were completely wiped off the table.

Although, he did play a key role for his country at Euro 2020.

Nonetheless, add in the small injuries he would pick up here and there, and it hasn’t been all plain sailing for the centre-back.

Nonetheless, this is the message he sent to supporters ahead of Wales’ crucial World Cup qualifier against Estonia on Wednesday.

Rodon probably has at least three faces ahead of him in the centre-back pecking order in North London.

Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier have helped Spurs secure three wins and three clean sheets this season.

Then there’s the new boy, Cristian Romero, who has caused quite the stir on the international stage this week, who will also be ahead of him.

From then on, it’s going to be interesting to see how Nuno perceives Rodon and where he will earn his minutes from this term.
