Tottenham Hotspur are the form team heading into this week’s huge Premier League game at Old Trafford against Manchester United.

Both teams are level on 20 points in second place, but United have failed to win their last two league matches, with Tottenham victorious in theirs.

Spurs have scored five goals in their last two league games compared to one for United, and have momentum in their favour ahead of the big games.

This week’s Carabao Cup matches can swing the pendulum back in United’s favour.

Jose Mourinho’s side have a chance to get defeat out of their system when they take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium this evening.

A win, even better a victory with free flowing attacking football, will restore confidence for the Red Devils heading into the Spurs game.

United need to show a reaction after their defeat to Huddersfield, and the game against Swansea could be perfectly timed.

They may be able to welcome Eric Bailly back, and get their defence re-established after Victor Lindelof’s Saturday horror show.

Tottenham meanwhile face a motivated West Ham at Wembley in a game which could upset their momentum.

West Ham are desperate for a win and could beat Tottenham if the Lilywhites rotate their squad and get it wrong.

A defeat for United at Swansea would tip the balance even more into Tottenham’s favour and ramp up the pressure on Jose Mourinho.

But he has a chance for his side to get back to winning ways and shake off their recent troubles, and the timing of the fixture could not be better and could give them a vital lift heading into the game with Spurs – who will be wishing there were no games at all this week.
