Ray Parlour has stated that Ross Barkley, Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek could prove to be ‘good signings’ for Newcastle, as he told talkSPORT (27/10/21 at 6:50 am).
All three players aren’t regulars at their current clubs and Parlour thinks by moving to Newcastle they could ‘prove people wrong’.
Take your pick between Alli and van de Beek, as to whose situation is worse because they are both struggling for minutes and the writing is on the wall in regards to their futures.
As for Barkley, he was on-loan at Aston Villa last season, he returned to Chelsea this summer and has featured sporadically under Thomas Tuchel.
It’s fair to say, his relationship with his manager is probably far better than Alli and van de Beek’s is with their coaches.
Given the situation of those three players, Parlour backed them to possibly move to the now-richest club in world football when the transfer window re-opens.
“They have got to look at the positions they really need to strengthen,” said Parlour. “Newcastle fans will tell me a lot more than I do. They watch them week in and week out.
“But certainly, players you have mentioned there. Alli, Barkley and van de Beek.
“They could have that second wind and say ‘well, I am going to prove people wrong’. They could be good signings.”

van de Beek has only been handed six Premier League minutes at Manchester United this season.
Even when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is watching his team get smoked 5-0 at home to Liverpool, the Dutch international still can’t earn minutes.
He could be a realistic purchase and someone who would elevate Newcastle’s midfield – more likely a loan deal than anything else.
During his days at Ajax, he showcased an ability to control games from the middle of the park, progress the ball forward and have the close control to play the ball in tight situations.
Exactly what Newcastle need, but will his lack of minutes may prove to be a stumbling block, because he will have no rhythm to his game whatsoever.
