Jody Morris says Sofyan Amrabat would be a ‘good signing’ for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
The Reds have only signed two players this summer – Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai – but they could be about to add a third.
Former Chelsea man Morris labelled Sofyan Amrabat as a ‘talented boy’ and someone that Liverpool are looking for in the middle of the park, as he told The Transfer Show on Sky Sports (16/08/23 at 7:55 pm).
This comes after reports emerged that the Europa League side are chasing a deal for the Fiorentina midfielder and are looking to beat Manchester United to his signature.
A star at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar for Morocco, the 26-year-old’s stock hit high levels during that period and he could now be Premier League-bound.
If Amrabat does make that switch to Merseyside, then Jody Morris has backed the deal.

“He is a talented boy that has performed well in the perfect position that Liverpool are looking for,” said Morris.
“Good signing if both clubs (Liverpool and Manchester United) are able to get him.”

Liverpool searching for that defensive midfielder
The sale of Fabinho has hit Liverpool hard because, whilst his form fell off a cliff last season, they don’t have a senior player of his ilk at the club anymore.
If Amrabat signs, then he certainly adds to it and his energy in front of that backline is exactly what Klopp will be looking for.
But just bringing that one player isn’t enough because, even before Fabinho’s move to Saudi Arabia, he needed competition in the middle of the park.
